Uncontained Mural Project

My inspiration for this design is from the distinctive flora that is found in the region where I live. The design champions two unique species of flora to not only celebrate the natural beauty and diversity of the region but also to remind us of the connection between the land and ocean…and by using a more expressive colour palette, I aimed to link the past and present. It features the artwork wrapping around all sides.
This artwork started as a concept sketch for a throw blanket design. This design was created after I was well rested and had just returned from a walk along the coast that left me inspired by what I’d seen. After this design was presented in the workshop, I chose to rework the design and submit for an art project whereby the artwork was reimagined on a shipping container.
